Such A Great Weekend!!

I HAD SUCH A GREAT WEEKEND!!!

If you read my previous posts, you know the amazing things that happened this weekend.

I gave myself some fresh new hair colour.
Dorina came to visit.
Saturday activities were unreal.
I GOT TO SLEEP IN.
And last, but certainly not least:
I FINALLY saw the beautiful April. (It's been over a month :( )

I feel like this past weekend off work was exactly what I needed as a refresh to last me until I have another 3 day weekend. I'm so grateful for everything and everyone that had a part in it.

And now back to the grind. And for Monday morning makeup, this is what I have done with my face. I was actually at work when I took this photo.

What A Great Day!

Hi Everyone!!

If you read my previous couple posts, you know that I was excited about a friend that was coming to visit. She's on her way back down to Tennessee and in a few weeks when she's done with her work, she'll be heading back to Germany, and I will maybe see her again in another 16 years. Yes it's been 16 years. That's a long ass time.

We as a family, had an amazing time yesterday if I say so myself. We visited a bunch of wineries in Essex County and came out unscathed with several bottles of wine :)

We also all went out for dinner. And afterwards, back to my parents' house for some dessert and more chatting. It was truly a great day. For my hair and makeup, too ;)

Today I've been giving my face a rest from makeup. I don't work Sundays, for now at least (I hope it stays that way), so I like to call it 'Skincare Sundays'. Similar to what I used to do with 'Facemask Fridays', but I work Fridays usually, so I put makeup on and drag my ass to work. Begrudgingly. Anyway, no makeup for me today, but I'm really looking forward to using some new skincare products again I picked up at Cosmoprof a couple of weeks ago. I'll dedicate a post to it in the near future and let you know my thoughts on everything.

I'm just waiting for the wonderful April and her boyfriend, Chris to come over for dinner. The ribs have been in the oven for a couple hours so far, and I'm salivating because it smells so damn good. I also picked up a kale salad kit to go with it. And they're bringing dessert! I haven't seen them in over a month (since April's birthday). I'm very excited! This weekend has truly been great.

Winery Day!

Heyyyyyy!!!!

So it's Saturday morning, and this is what I've been doing for about 2 hours now. 

But I think it's time to get ready to go hang out with my family and Dorina!!! We're going to a bunch of wineries today and out for dinner tonight :):) 

I just want to mention very quickly how grateful I am to the Canadian Beauty Bloggers network and the P&G sponsors of the latest Twitter party for this INCREDIBLE prize pack that I received yesterday. 

There are so many fun things that I can't wait to try out!! I honestly don't know what I'm more excited to use :)

If you read yesterday's blog, you know I was dyeing my hair in the morning. It turned out ok. I mean, it's more vibrant than it was before I dyed it, but I anticipated a little more purple in the colour. That didn't happen, but I just have to go to cosmoprof and actually GET a purple to mix in next time. We'll see. But this is how it turned out anyway. 

It's weird. It looks different in different lighting. It's dark in muted natural lighting, but super extreme red in harsh natural lighting. Slightly purple/brown in yellow toned lighting, etc. I don't know what to do about it. But I know for sure it needs a trim!!

Hair Dyeing & German Visits!!

Hhhiiiiiii!!!!

It's FRIDAY!!!! Or should I say FriYAY!?!

For those of you who work in retail or restaurant or health care that don't necessarily get a 'Friday', I'm sorry. I've been there. I've done that. I get it.

The only reason I'm super excited today is because I get a 3 day weekend this week. I actually booked this weekend off work because there's a friend of the family visiting from Tennessee (she's actually from Germany) this weekend. When my sister was in high school, she was in a student exchange program. So she came to live with us for a few months, and afterwards, my sister went to live in Germany for a few months. So it's been around 13/14 years since we've seen her. I'm pretty excited. My parents are picking her up from the airport tonight, and we have a full day of activities planned for tomorrow.

I'm dyeing my hair this morning! This is what it looked like before I mixed the dye and put it on my head. 

I like to use Joico products. I've been accustomed to them ever since my sister worked for the company. My usual colour for about a year and a half has been the 6FR - Crimson Red, but I'm thinking I want to incorporate a little more purple into the mix, so this morning I'm using 5RM - Red Mahogany with INRV - Red Violet Intensifier mixed in. No, I'm not a professional. I just have a passion for all things beauty, and a friend with a Cosmoprof card.

This extremely bright bubblegum pink scared the shit out of me when I saw what it was turning out to be while mixing it, but it darkened up a lot. And this is what I currently look like while I type this blog. I hope it turns out like what I have pictures in my head. We'll see in a little while I guess. 

I'm actually dyeing my aunt's hair in a little while, too. I dye hair for about 8 or 9 people now (mainly family). It keeps me busy on my days off. Sometimes to my dismay. But my family does a lot for me, so it's a tiny price to pay to keep them looking fabulous. Not to mention, some actually pay me. For the products AND for my time. So yay!

Dewy Summer Dreaming Makeup!

Hi hi hi!!

During the blizzard Windsor is currently experiencing, I'm thanking myself for booking this weekend off of work so I don't have to drive in this garbage. Unfortunately, it's Thursday, and I still have to go to work today. But that's only one trip of back and forth. And the roads I usually take should be cleared by the time I have to leave my house.

With all this glowing white shit falling from the skies, I decided to try to match my face to be on par with the glow. It's damn near impossible because snow is white and I don't want to look like a ghost, but for today's makeup, I went with a super dewy, super glowy 'natural'-ish look. I just wish it were the sun reflecting my glow instead of snow. But Southwestern Ontario is not that kind to me.

These are the products I used to create said dewy look. I went a little ham on the highlight, but whatever. For my shadow, I used the Physician's Formula Butter Bronzer. I also have lashes on, but I didn't take a picture of them before putting them on my face. They are the Stilazzi lashes in the style 962. I got them at IMATS September 2015 for $1!! They retail for $3 on the website, and they're reusable for a few times; if you take care of them properly.

I originally used 2 Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipsticks; in the shades Patina and Bellissima, but I have discovered that I actually hate the formula of them. They're extremely drying and settle into the fine lines of my lips and actually flake within a few minutes of setting. Granted, I don't really exfoliate my lips, but I think in general, I just prefer the feeling of a lipgloss or a satin finish lipstick to something so dry in finish. I press my lips together so often in a day that I can't afford to have to worry about the matte liquid lipstick transferring or flaking off.

And that's it!! It didn't take me as long as it normally does to do my makeup because there's nothing super intricate about it. I was actually inspired because I was watching YouTube videos (as I do every morning when I'm getting ready) of Katy (Lustrelux) during her trip to Hawaii with Tarte Cosmetics (#trippinwithtarte), and the glow on all the beautiful people that were lucky enough to go was divine. Really made me want to go on a trip. Like now. Especially because I'm sitting by the window watching the snow fall as I type this. Bah!

I'm Baaaaaaacccccckkkkkkkk!!!

Yep. It's been a while again. Is there a use in apologizing? Because I feel like I've been doing that quite a bit in my blogging lately because I'M A HORRIBLE BLOGGER!!! And I'm not afraid to admit it.

Yes, I've been working almost 50 hours a week. No, I haven't had a whole hell of a lot of time to go shopping for makeup or to do product reviews. My days off are spent doing things I put off for the week so my weekends are usually jam packed with stupid adult things like grocery shopping and cleaning the house and laundry and all that garbage. I just want to play with makeup and express my views of everything and lay in bed with my cats.

But alas, I need to pay bills, so I need to work. But sometimes I have extra money, and I of course spend it on makeup. That obsession hasn't dwindled in the LEAST.

I moved on to my YouTube channel for a while, but I feel like my sister-in-law has gotten super annoyed with my going over once a month to use their iMac to edit my videos. So I haven't uploaded anything in at least 3 weeks, and I can't see another chance any time soon for me to have access to a Mac in order to continue editing. So I have decided that since I still want to share my love of all things beauty, I need to start blogging again. Especially if I want to consider myself a beauty blogger still. So until I save enough money to get my OWN iMac or MacBook, I have decided to return to actually typing about beauty products instead of just talking about them.

So get ready people! I'm back! :)
