Good News!

Hi Everybody!!

So, who remembers when I got that job and I was working a million hours a week? And then I quit after less than a month? Well, it's a good thing I quit that job and stayed at my current job even though I wasn't getting enough hours to even support my shopping habits...... because over the past few weeks, there were a couple of job postings internally that I applied for. I had my interview a couple weeks ago, as well did many others within the company, and guess who got the job?!?!

ME!! :):):):)

I feel like I can officially say something about it now because I signed the paperwork yesterday and they can't take it back! This means an increase in hours AND pay, so I am one happy girl right now :) I'm most glad that I can stay in a workplace I enjoy and make more money! Yay for shopping! :)

Update!!

Hi Everybody!!

This is just an update post on how my baseball fiasco went last night! 

As you know, I was extremely nervous. When I got to the park I was welcomed with open arms by everyone and they were all thankful and very nice the whole time. The girlfriend of mine that originally asked me to play thanked me originally by handing me a tall boy can of Stella Artois to help calm my nerves :). I drank that in a matter of minutes as well as another Coors Light tall boy before the games even started. They didn't help my nerves but oh well!! I played third base and I was put fourth in the batting order, so I can only imagine my friend talked me and my skills up a lot. 

All in all I played well. Not as well as I would have three years ago, but I am pretty happy with myself. I made several plays on the field but my hitting left something to be desired. I was walked twice, I fouled out once, and I hit almost directly to the left fielder and popped out twice all in two 7-inning games. Our team won the first game by one run and we lost the second game by two runs. 

I think the coach of the team was impressed by my playing because he sent me a message later on last night asking me to play for them all the time now. Every muscle in my body is in pain so I told him I would think about it when I heal :)

Nervous!!!

Hi Everybody!!

So I know I haven't posted in a little bit but I have a couple ideas coming very soon! 

In the meantime, I need everyone's well wishes and good luck wishes as I am playing baseball tonight for the first time in about three years! I'm very nervous! I was asked by a friend of mine to fill in on her co-ed softball team and it wasn't the first time she asked so I felt bad an nostalgia ran over me and I said yes. I used to play a lot. One year I played baseball four nights a week and volleyball one night a week and it just got to be too much for me so I quit and haven't played since. I've been nervous all day and I'm worried I'm going to play like shit so please send me some good luck!!

I'm So Nice:)

Hi Everybody!!

I know I may sound a little arrogant by the title, but I promise you will think the same thing when you're through reading this post :)

So Wayne's daughter had surgery this past Monday. Don't worry, it wasn't overly major surgery; she was in and out of the hospital within several hours, and she is recovering wonderfully. After last weekend going to Wayne's son's baseball tournament, and spending the weekend focused on him, I thought it would be nice to focus on her and do something nice for her. 

She was at her mom's house for a few days following the surgery so it allowed me to work on a little project I had been thinking about doing for a couple months for her. That, paired with me offering to cook her anything she wanted for dinner the first night she came back to our house, I figured would be something she would very much enjoy. 

First, the dinner. I went to culinary school, I know my way around the kitchen, and occasionally I will spoil the children by making something that isn't always chicken and vegetables, and they ask for those things regularly, but I know the importance of healthy eating, so I rarely make those other meals. Since Wayne's daughter had the surgery, I told her we could have anything she wanted for dinner the first night back at our house. Turns out I didn't have to cook at all! She wanted a 'Make Your Own Pizza' night. I was 100% okay with that!! Super easy, plus no complaints about what anyone is being served because they would only have themselves to blame!! :) 

That is the pizza I made. My favourite toppings on earth are: pepperoni, red onion, and feta cheese. If you haven't had those three together, do it. And thank me later :) Everone enjoyed their pizza just the same, and everyone was happy, which is what this life needs. 

For the second project, I had been thinking about it for a couple months but the perfect opportunity never came up. Until last week. In Wayne's son's room, he has a desk which he keeps all of his video game stuff on as well as his tv. However, since Christmas, when he got an xbox and plays it downstairs, he has played video games in his room less than a handful of times. So I wanted to get a smaller tv stand for him and move the desk into Wayne's daughter's room and make her a vanity set up similar to the one I have (but more appropriate for a 15 year old). 

My brother was tearing up his basement and getting rid of a lot of stuff he's had down there for years, so I asked for the tv stand because it was perfect for what I wanted to do. I made the switch earlier this week and I have to say it looks pretty great! I found a mirror at a thrift store for $4 and I painted it black to match the desk. I also picked up some Sonia Kashuk items at Target that were on clearance as well as some makeup remover wipes (because she always uses mine). I moved a few things around in her room so it doesn't look crowded and I think I did a really good job. 

Unfortunately I was at work when she came to our house, but Wayne told me she was really excited and shocked when she walked into her room that day. I'm glad she has her own space and won't be using mine anymore :). 

That's my good deed for the week. Maybe the month! Ha!

Lots of Fun!!

Hi Everybody!!

I've been away for a bit so I feel bad about not posting for a while. But I have a few things to share :)

First off, a friend of mine asked me to make a birthday cake for her daughter's best friend. The thing is, is that the little girl was having two parties so she needed two cakes. One cake for the family birthday party, and one cake for the friend birthday party. She was turning 6, so naturally she wanted a 'Frozen' themed cake. They're not the greatest things ever, but they were pretty fun to make.

This next one is just a selfie I took one morning because I liked the look of my makeup :)

Last Saturday night a little group of us went to a comedy show because my beautiful friend April won some free tickets, and then we went downtown. And, once again, we took a couple pictures with one of the comedians, but this time we kidnapped one and made him come downtown with us.

           

    

Last Tuesday evening I went for a few drinks with my good friend Rachel. We haven't had a night like that for a really long time. It was just the two of us; we ate some appetizers, had a lot of beers, and talked for hours on end. It was pretty awesome. The one pictured below is two and a half pints of moosehead lager. It was only $9! 

This past weekend, the four of us (Wayne, myself, and the kids) went out of town for a baseball tournament for Wayne's son. Apparently during the last tournament, Wayne was being held responsible for getting a couple of the other boys' mom's beverages while they were keeping track of pitch counts and the score and whatnot, so they nicknamed him 'Cabana Boy'. The joke carried on to this past weekend's tournament, only they kicked it up a notch and made him a shirt with his name and his nickname on it. Needless to say, he got my drinks for the weekend :)

Sorry for the long post, but I've been up to a lot lately. I've also been working, but thankfully not too much to kill me. I'm still busy as all hell, but I'm not busy with work 100% of the time. Now it's around the working 40% of the time and everything else gets 60% of my time. I hope each and every one of you have been well and I will catch up with all of you soon!!
