So, in lieu of not having a job shortly, I am in good spirits. I'm lucky to have had this job for two years, and to have met and gotten to know and love a lot of the people I worked with. Despite the upcoming unemployment, I think I have decided that I will go on EI and collect some of the money back that I pay into year after year after year. I think it will be nice to have the summer off so I can be free to play and do almost anything I please, don't you? Everyone in the company is supposed to receive a letter in the coming weeks to notify us when our services are no longer needed, but we will all be getting a 'working severance pay' until the company is officially no longer in Canada, which is May 16, 2015. It sounds nicer than it is. The severance starts on January 25, and the longer we work, the less severance we get. It's kind of a displacement theory. Which sucks. I think the store I work at will be one of the last ones open because we are in the top 5 in the country. I also think I will be working until close to the end of it all because of the job I have within the store. I'd rather not.
I'm already thinking about plans for the summer and doing things around the house, like rearranging some rooms and whatnot. Not being employed will obviously limit my ability to spend money frivolously, so I'm thinking to maybe host some game nights with miss April and her boyfriend, and maybe I'll actually start that YouTube channel I've been talking about for months. Who knows!! All I know is that I'm about to have a lot of free time on my hands, and my house can only get so clean.
