Delicious Food!!

Hi Everybody!

I had a good food day today so I wanted to share it with you :)

For breakfast, I had granola (I like Quaker Harvest Crunch) with blueberries and yogurt (I like Source french vanilla). It's my go to breakfast. It's easy, quick, delicious, and healthy.

For lunch, I made a salad with romaine lettuce, tomato, red onion, bacon, crumbled feta, and homemade croutons. I used Caesar dressing because it's my favourite.

For dinner, we had a treat. Wayne and I went to the grocery store to find something for dinner, and pork back ribs were on sale. They were pre-cut into half racks for $6.59/kg, which is around $3.30/lb. so I bought 8 packages (we have the kids for dinner, and I wanted leftovers). I used a mental recipe that my mom has always used (which I won't list because I don't want anyone knowing how I make them to be so damn delicious) and everyone even said they were better than my mom's (shhhh!!). I don't ever think I could live up to my mom's ribs, though. That being said, they were the best ribs I've made yet. I served them with sidekicks but I don't get a chance to take a picture of all of it together because it got devoured so quickly.

So if you ask me, it was a pretty good day for food in our house.

Thanks so much!!

Friday Face Mask!!

Hi Everybody!!

I don't know if any of you remember a couple weeks ago when I went on a road trip and went to Sephora during said road trip, but I got a couple fibre masks, and I tried one out this morning, so I thought I'd share my experience :)

I tried the green tea mask that is supposed to help mattify your skin as well as clear up blemishes.

Fair warning; these photos are HILARIOUS!!! I knew I would look like a monster, but I could barely take these photos because I was laughing so hard.

You're supposed to leave it on for 15 minutes. When your time is up, just take it off and discard. There is no need to rinse your face. You can actually rub in the excess moisture into your face from the mask.

In my opinion, long story short; it didn't do what it claimed to do. The mask didn't even stay on my face the whole time. It's not like it fell off; just the part in between my lips and nose. I'm chalking it up to my breathing through my nose. But it was still super annoying. I did also have a blemish that didn't go away. I don't expect instant results but I expected some diminishing factors. Also, the whole mattifying claim; nope.

I wasn't thoroughly impressed. The best part was the humour of the whole thing. I scared Wayne and the cats. Good thing it was inexpensive ($8). I have another one for a different purpose, so we'll see how that one works when I decide to use it.

That's all for now!! Thank you!

Something New!

Hi Everybody!!

I did something a little different and out of a lot of people's comfort zones this week, and that is: I bought makeup off someone on kijiji. She was selling a bunch of makeup palettes for super cheap, and I really couldn't resist. She was selling them for $10 each, and they're beautiful! I may or may not keep all of them, and by that I mean I may give a couple of them away as Christmas gifts or something. The one I am featuring in today's blog is definitely a keeper for myself. They are all BARELY used, 85% of them not even swatched, so I was really impressed with that fact.

The girl I bought them from went to college for esthetics, so she had to buy these palettes, but I guess she doesn't need them anymore or want them, so she sold them. Yay for me, though! The only issue I have with them is that they don't have names to go with each shade; just numbers. I'll get over it.

I'm just going to show you all the swatches. They are not all the same consistency when it comes to creaminess or pigmentation, but $10 for 20 shadows is still a great deal no matter what.

As I said, some are not as pigmented or creamy as others, but they're all definitely usable dependent on the look I'm going for. I'm really looking forward to several of these colours for fall looks.

Thanks!!
