Tis The Season!!

Hi Everybody!!

I know I said a couple of weeks ago that I would post pictures of my Christmas decorations around the house in a couple of days, but I honestly don't have as many decorations as I thought I did, plus I've been working a lot lately, so I kind of got off to a little bit of a late start. Oops!

So this is going to be a little bit about basically just my Christmas trees. Yes, I said trees. We have 2 in the house. I feel like that's normal now. We only put gifts underneath the one, though. They are themed by colour, as well. The upstairs tree is teal and silver, and the downstairs tree is red and gold. They are both very beautiful and I love them very much. Since last year was our first Christmas in this house, I originally wanted a tree in the kids' bedrooms; one for each child to decorate to their liking, but Wayne said no. It's quite rare that he tells me no, so I begrudgingly accepted that answer.

I am also in the midst of getting things prepared for Christmas Eve, which is when we are hosting 50 of my closest family members! It's no easy feat, and there are a lot of preparations to be made, and a lot of things to do around the house. I don't think I'm ready.....

Without further adieu, here are my lovely trees :)

Show me some of yours!

Thanks!

What Do YOU Want???

Hi Everybody!!

I was wondering what any/all of you asked for this year?
Do you even celebrate Christmas?
What kind of traditions and customs do you partake in around this time of year?

I really want to know, so let me know (if you don't mind sharing). I'm no expert on religions, and I know it's a touchy subject, but I am interested in learning what all of you practice...

Thanks!

Breakfast Date!!

Hi Everybody!!

I went out for breakfast yesterday morning with a friend of mine. A giant breakfast. A breakfast fit for kings. And it was awesome!

I had an omelet. It was called 'Paul's Omelet' because the place we went to was called Paul's Kitchen. It had so many things in it; cheese, onion, peppers, bacon, ham, and sausage all wrapped up in a three egg envelope :). It came with hashbrowns and toast. I also got a half order of French Toast. I wasn't kidding when I said it was a breakfast for kings.

My friend, Sarah, got eggs, hashbrowns, peameal bacon, chocolate chip pancakes, toast, and a side of regular bacon. We also both got coffee and water.

Neither of us could finish our meals, but we did our best for the giant servings we ordered for ourselves. We went shopping afterwards. She wanted a winter jacket. We couldn't find one, but I bought a couple Christmas gifts. Dare I say I'm almost done...... But I need to take an inventory of what is for whom before I determine what I have left to buy.

That's all for now! Thanks!

The First Christmas Party of the Season!!

Hi Everybody!

The Christmas season is upon us! I am officially in full swing of things!!

I have almost all of my shopping done, the house is decorated, and I have even been to my first Christmas party of the season!

It was at a lovely friend's house, and she always outdoes herself with hosting and decorating, and really just being an all around amazing person :)

Following are just a few photos of how she set up her living room/dining room for the occasion. I believe everything you see is a mainstay for the season as well (aside from the punch).

She's always so far ahead of the game. And she decorated her whole house while being 7 1/2 months pregnant! She's a real lover of Christmas.

It was a nice time. There were 6 ladies there including myself. We had a 'Favourite Things' themed gift and dessert exchange. Each lady was to bring 5 identical $5 gifts of our own liking to give to everyone else, so we could all leave with 5 different gifts that represents each of the ladies' favourites. As well, we were to bring our favourite sweet treat to eat and share. I was on a sugar high for the rest of the night, that's for sure.

What are some of your favourite things??

Black Friday/Cyber Monday 2014

Hi Everybody!

I'm sure the majority of you know that this past Friday was 'Black Friday' in the USA and some parts of Canada. Did any of you brave the crowds? Or do some online shopping to get some of those amazing deals? What did you get?

I ordered something online; I wanted to get more but what I wanted was sold out by the time I got around to having some free time to sit and shop :(

Also, today I didn't have time so that's a little upsetting. I worked and had a couple appointments and I was far too tired after I got home and made and ate dinner to think about looking at a bunch of different sites for the best bargain.

Wayne braved the crowds on Thursday night in Dearborn, Michigan for a few hours. It was worth it according to him. He came home with a bunch of stuff and in general spent about a third of what he would have had be bought everything full priced, and in Canada. I'm excited to get a lot of what he bought for Christmas.

Speaking of Christmas, how many of you are prepared? I plan on decorating my house tomorrow. I would normally decorate on December 1st, but as I said, I worked and had appointments and such so I didn't get to that today, either.

I'll post some pictures of the decorations later this week :)

That's all for now! Thank you and good night!

Be Wonderful :)

PS. If you're not following me on Instagram, go do it. I'm going to try out the 'Photo A Day December' thing. My name is @shelbyanng9 ;)

This is the photo I posted today to kick off the month

Sonia Kashuk 15th Anniversary Set

Hi Everybody!

I had to share my excitement of these Sonia Kashuk limited edition 15th anniversary sets going on clearance at Target! I had to snatch them up before they were sold out, because I sure as shit am not paying more than double what they cost in store just because they're limited edition.

Anyway! The brushes are GORGEOUS! I love the colour purple, and the gold just makes them look so classy in my opinion. The nail polishes aren't full sized, but there are 15 of them, and for the price I paid, I'm not complaining one bit.

I only have the one picture of the two of them together. Sorry it's awkward with the reflection of my lights. I'll have to open both sets one day to get some better pictures.

That's all for now!

A Lot Of Fucks.

Tonight's post is going to be a little angrier than usual. First off, I deeply apologize for not posting in like 7886534865 weeks. Seriously. It feels like forever to me; maybe not you, but to me for sure.

So my laptop broke. And my phone is fucked.

Those are my excuses for not posting in forever. The laptop just decided it wanted to take a forever nap, and my phone has been a dickhole for the past couple of months. Thank god the files were salvageable from the laptop, though. I would have been super devastated if they couldn't have been lifted off the hard drive. I have like 3 years of my life on there. I am currently using my parents' laptop to type this post.

My phone is being a fuck. I have a year and three months left in my contract, but I'm about to throw it into traffic at any given moment. The battery sucks. It runs slow. It decides it also wants to take a nap at any given moment without me turning it off. I mean it shuts itself off when the battery is at 76%. And it won't turn back on for at least 30 minutes. Can someone please explain this fuckery?? It's an iPhone 4S if anyone has any suggestions of what to do with it other than play baseball with it.

I'm sure all of you know and can't ignore the fact that Christmas is coming. Which means I'm spending my money on other people. Which means I can't afford a new laptop nor a cell phone. I know Black Friday starts tomorrow in some places, but I've been warned of buying electronics on Black Friday simply due to the fact that companies make certain electronics specifically for Black Friday, and they may not be the best quality. I don't really give a shit. As long as I can write blogs, watch YouTube videos, and upload pictures and videos onto it, I'm happy. I don't know what to do.

I feel like that's it for my rant.

I'm sorry if I offended anyone with my profanity.

Morphe Order!!

Hi Everybody!!

This post is brought to you by the excitement that is overwhelming me because my Morphe Brushes order came in!!!

I know, I know; I already have so much makeup, what do I need more for?? Well, I'm not the first, and I won't be the last girl who likes makeup to tell you that you will always want more, no matter how much you already have. Just saying.

Plus, with these single eyeshadows only being $2 each, it's difficult to NOT get them.

The only thing I'm not too huge a fan of is the fact that none of them have names, just numbers. But I'll get over that. Oh, look! I'm over it. :)

That's all for today! I have some makeup to play with! Thank you!

Wedding Weekend!

Hi Everybody!

I went to a wedding this past weekend with Wayne. Unfortunately I didn't take any pictures other than of myself to showcase my hair and makeup and the centerpiece at our table. Oops! To be fair; had I taken pictures, my phone would have died in a matter of minutes. I did post some snapchats of my drinking habits throughout the night, though. I had two bottles of white wine all to myself, so I'm sure you can imagine the shitshow I looked like by the end of the night. Anyway, here are a couple photos I took that day.

This is just in the car on the way to the ceremony

This was in between the ceremony and reception. Just doing some touch ups.

This is a close up of my eye. Obviously. Just showcasing the LASH PARTY that's happening.

I apologize for not taking any more photos. It was absolutely beautiful. The bride was gorgeous. I almost cried when I saw her. And it's really hard to believe that my friend Peter is married now. Especially because he had been dating his now wife for years before any of us even met her. There was even an ongoing joke that she didn't exist. But she does. And now they're married. Weird.

Anyway, that's all for now! Thanks!

Pampering Myself!!

Hi Everybody!!

A couple nights ago I decided I would pamper myself a little bit. I have so many spa essentials and products that are meant for pampering oneself, but I rarely have time to use them. I made time this week.

Wayne and I have a wedding to go to on Saturday, so I want to make sure I'm well rested beforehand so I don't look frazzled the day of.

I took a bath with one of my new bath bombs from Lush Cosmetics. This bath bomb is called Northern Lights, and it's so freaking cool. It is a baton shaped bomb in a purple colour, but when you put it in the water and it starts to dissolve, two other colours (blue and yellow) start dissolving out of it. It is supposed to be like looking at the ACTUAL Northern Lights. I loved it.

I also did a face mask. I've had this for at least two months, but I have this problem where I buy new things and I'm afraid to use them for fear of ruining them, so I just opened it for the first time that night. It is called Glam Glow, and it is sold at Sephora and a few other retailers. I got mine at Winners by freak chance. My package contains the Supermud Clearing Treatment, which is the one I used, and the Youthmud Tinglexfoliate Treatment. The clearing treatment is supposed to draw out all the imperfections and leave your skin clear with noticeably smaller pores.

I only used it as a spot treatment type of mask. I think I look hilarious and it kind of looks like a goatee. I did have a few blemishes along this horseshoe shape on my face, though. It's been a couple of days since I did this and my skin is clear as day. It will take me a long time to use the whole jar, but I'm happy that when it happens I can find it for sure at Sephora now that it's open.

I love it when I get nights like that one. I very much enjoy pampering myself. It's a shame I don't get to do it like this very often.

What are some of your favourite ways to pamper yourself?

Thanks for reading!

Devil's Night!

Hi Everybody!

I know that with Halloween being this past weekend, I'm sure all of you have gotten your fill of costumes and makeup, but since I didn't do anything for Halloween this year, I need to share the tradition I DID participate in.

This happened on Thursday, October 30th, also known as Devil's Night or All Hallow's Eve. This year marks the 19th year this tradition has been standing. My family, and another family toilet paper each other's houses (not really the houses, more like the trees and bushes) every October 30th.

This year was definitely one of the best years, though. So. Much. Toilet. Paper.

These are obviously altered because my phone camera doesn't take the greatest pictures at night, and they are also three different houses of the four that were toilet papered. My sister and I toilet papered two houses, and the other family toilet papered two houses. If we count all the houses that the families occupy, there are 6 total, but there were only 4 casualties.

It was so much fun. It always is, but as I said, this was one of the best years. Epic. Do any of you have Halloween traditions?

Thanks!

Urban Decay Vice 3 Palette!!

Hi Everybody!!

So if you read makeup blogs or have any knowledge of makeup these days, I'm sure you've seen this thing a million times, but I bought it for a different reason than everyone else, I'm sure.

This is the Urban Decay Vice 3 Palette. It succeeds Vice 1 and Vice 2. I only really got into makeup this year (2014), so I don't really know much about the first two Vice's. I DO know that they are all limited edition, and once sold out of stores and online, they are very difficult to get your hands on, and when you can find them, they are guaranteed to have a higher than retail price tag on them.

And that's why I bought one; with the specific purpose to hold on to it until they are all sold out, and sell it at double market value. I have zero intentions of using this palette. When I first heard it was coming out, I had no desire whatsoever to buy it, whether it be to keep and use and be added to my collection, or to give away as a gift (that's a really nice gift, though, with a price tag of $70 CAD).

Upon further inspection and research, I learned that the first two Vice palettes were still sought after on online shopping retailers, and for at least double the market value. So that got me thinking. And thinking some more. And debating. Do I buy this palette and never use it> Do I buy this palette and sell it for double what I paid? Do I actually want this palette for myself? Do I buy it and give it as a gift? So many things went through my head. I deduced that I would for sure never use it, so it was obvious I also didn't want it. The only person I would ever gift it to would be +April Richardson and upon further investigation, I knew she had no desire to own it, either. So my last question to myself was 'do I buy it and sell it for double?', and the answer was yes.

Here are pictures of every facet of the giant palette :)

Giant. The thing is huge. I'm glad I don't want it because it would never fit in the holders that I keep all of my palettes in. If I were to keep it, I can only realistically see myself using the far left row of shadows anyways, and I refuse to pay $70 for 4 eye shadows.

Long story short, though; I returned it.

I did some more research, and there were still a ton left everywhere, and everyone that was selling them online was selling them for the USD price, which by rule of thumb is usually around $10 less than what we pay in Canada. I didn't want to have to wait 6 months or maybe even a year to sell this thing for a profit. Who knows what could happen to it in that time. So it went bye bye. I'm not upset.

That's all! Thank you!

Delicious Healthy Food!!

Hi Everybody!

For dinner tonight I decided to try something different.

I borrowed a spiralizer from my sister in law about 6 months ago and finally decided to try it out tonight. I'm totally kicking myself in the ass now, though, because that thing produces the coolest looking food EVER!!!

I had zucchinis in the fridge that would have gone bad if not used in the next couple of days, so I decided to make zucchini pasta! It actually tastes amazing, without all the bad connotations that eating pasta gives you!! I was really impressed. I just boiled the 'noodles' for about 5 minutes, drained them, and added my favourite pasta sauce.

I also made sweet potato curly fries!! I baked them with a tiny bit of olive oil, sea salt, cracked black pepper, and garlic powder. Delish! I just used a slightly bigger holy cutter thing to make them more of a 'fry size' as opposed to the tiny 'pasta size'.

It may seem weird to have a pasta dish with a sweet potato fry side, but I assure you they were all super delicious and I can't wait to use the spiralizer again to create more healthy and delicious meals!

Thanks!

Yikes!

Hi Everybody!!

I'm so sorry I haven't posted in almost two weeks! Work has got me like whoa! I barely have days off and when I do, I make plans and run all the errands I can't do on the days I work.

This past weekend was a prime example of that. I had Friday off of work, but in the morning I get Wayne's kids ready for school (breakfast, lunch, teeth brushed, etc.), so it's not like I really get to sleep in. My aunt also comes over every Friday morning to have me do her hair. I dye it as well as wash and style it. When she left I had a couple errands to run. When I was done my errands, I had an appointment.

I'm not sure if any of you remember my disappointment in the opening day at Sephora, but I angrily tweeted that day, and in response to my tweets, Sephora offered me a custom makeup application with one of teir beauty experts as well as an array of deluxe samples, so I made that appointment for last Friday. The makeup application wasn't worth it because I feel as though I do it better on myself, but the samples I got totally were!

When I got home from my appointment, I made dinner. We went grocery shopping after dinner. I was in bed by 9 because I had to get up at 5 for work the next day.

Saturday was probably my busiest day. I worked 7-130, went to pick up my friend Rachel, brought her back to my house, did her makeup, and we went to a wedding ceremony for 330.

When that was over, I dropped her off at home, and her and her sister came over to my house very shortly after so I could do her sister's makeup. Her sister was going to the reception with her because I had plans with Wayne and the kids. Wayne made dinner, and when we were done eating and cleaning up, we went to pick his daughter up from work. We had made plans to go to a Spirit/Ghost Walk out in the county. Basically all you do is follow someone around while they tell you creepy historical stories. She ended up working an extra 45 minutes, so we were going to be late for the starting time, so we didn't go. We just went back home and watched a recorded episode of a tv show called Resurrection. We all enjoy that show and we always watch it together. I went to bed after it was done.

Sunday I worked 7-130 again. When I got home, I did the regular boring chores (dishes, laundry, cleaning, blah blah) and watched some football in there too. I am of the firm belief that every single store should be closed on Sundays so we can all watch football. Dinner, clean up, tv, bed.

Jeez! Just talking about my weekend exhausts me. I need a vacation. Any suggestions?

Thank you!

Thanksgiving!!

Hi Everybody!

So last week was Canadian Thanksgiving (for those of you who don't know), and every year, my family celebrates at my parents' house. It is a joint effort for everyone coming to bring a dish, but my mom definitely takes on the major responsibility of cooking the turkey.

It's always a great time spending the evening with my family along with great food and good conversation.
Our meal included:
Turkey
Stuffing
Carrots
Corn
Mashed Potatoes
Mashed Sweet Potatoes
Edamame
Candied Sweet Potatoes
Cranberry Jelly
Salad
Dinner Rolls

It was a feast to say the least. Every single thing was absolutely delicious. Not to mention the dessert! My mom made two pumpkin pies (I actually HATE pumpkin pie), and a caramel apple bundt cake, along with vanilla ice cream. Honestly, thinking about this giant meal I had last week really makes me excited for Christmas dinner. It's only 2 months away!!

Let me know some of your favourite holiday meals!!

Thanks!

New Makeup Geek Shadows!!

Hi Everybody!!

I love mail days when I receive packages! It's like Christmas presents for myself!

I had been waiting for these to come back in stock for over a month before I ordered them to fill my z-palette. They came in a couple days ago, and I am VERY excited for them! I have barely used my other shadows because I've been waiting for these ones so I can make specific makeup looks with them. They are as follows:

My full mini z-palette :)

From left to right, top to bottom:
Shimma Shimma
Peach Smoothie
Creme Brulee
Cinderella
Cosmopolitan
Cocoa Bear
Bitten
Burlesque
Corrupt

I'm VERY excited (did I say that yet?) to use all of these. The pigmentation is out of this world; they're so creamy and buttery, and there's no fallout, They're just all around amazing shadows.

I'm going to go play with them now!

Thanks!

Weekend Travel Makeup Bag!!

Hi Everybody!!

I went away for the weekend with my sister and a couple of her friends, and I thought I would share with you what's in my overnight makeup travel bag :)

So to start, obviously I have my brushes. Every brush here serves a completely different purpose, and they're all just as important as the next. I have foundation, concealer, bronzer, blush, highlight, and eye brushes. These are basically all of the brushes I use on a daily basis anyways.

Next is my bronzer, blush, and highlighter. My bronzer is from the brand 'essence', and I have the shade for brunettes because it's darker than the shade for blondes, but also warmer for my skin tone. Plus it smells like coconut, so it's basically my favourite. The blush I brought with me was my Milani Baked Blush in the shade 'Dolce Rose'. It's just alright. Not super pigmented, but it swatched pretty in the store, so I got it. My highlighter is from Sephora; it's Sephora brand, and it is the Baked Illuminizer in the shade 'Light Beam'.

Next is my undereye concealer and setting powder. They are both by E.L.F., and I use them both every single day. They are a must.

I just got this new smashbox primer, and holy shit it does what it claims to, and very well at that. I use it before I put my foundation on or anything, and it makes my face so smooth I don't like putting makeup on after it. It's just amazing.

Since I was only going overnight, I didn't feel the need to bring an overabundance of eyeshadows, and this Naked Basics palette by Urban Decay is my go to palette when I just want to do a super simple eye look without any fuss. I also use this palette for my eyebrows.

My favourite mascara lately has been the Maybelline brand Colossal Volume Cat Eyes mascara. It's a curved wand, which makes it easy to apply to my lashes if I'm in a hurry, or if I want to really make those babies curl.

I brought my new Wet n' Wild matte lipstick in the shade 'Spiked with Rum'. I didn't end up using it, but it's a really beautiful mauve-y brown-y reddish shade that's perfect for fall. I just used my EOS lip balm instead.

I just realized I didn't take a picture of my foundation, but that wouldn't have really helped any because I have it in a little bottle with a pump with all of them mixed together. I use L'Oreal True Match in N1, N2, and C3.

I also brought my toothbrush, toothpaste, contact case, solution, makeup wipes, face wash, toner, eye makeup remover; all the essentials. I obviously forgot to take pictures of those as well. I'm sorry for the slacking that is this post.

But thank you for reading anyway!

Be Wonderful :)
